Mark Spain artist discovered his passion for art at a young age in Kent. He studied technical graphics, illustration, life drawing and printmaking at Medway College of Art and Design. After graduating he worked as a freelance illustrator before establishing his own printmaking studio in Kent in 1984, where he specialised in original etchings and collagraphs, primarily focusing on landscape subjects.

Navigating Paths and Passions

Mark Spain’s printmaking career gained major recognition following the Great Storm of October 1987 when he was commissioned by Kew Gardens to produce limited edition etchings to support the restoration of the historic site. Further commissions followed for prestigious clients including National Westminster Bank and The Dorchester Hotel. He exhibited widely at major UK art fairs including the Chelsea Flower Show, Hampton Court, Barbican Contemporary Print Fair and the 20th Century British Art Fair.
