Championed by everybody from your archetypal surf dudes and trusted petrol heads to celebrity TV chefs and artisan food-providing SMEs, the humble Vee-Dub camper van is a common-ish site on British roads, especially during those lazy, hazy days of summer (remember those?), a fact not lost on one of the UK’s most promising (and new place-travelling) contemporary landscape artists, Samantha Ellis. While the exponent everyone’s currently talking about might have taken a slight departure from her previous cityscape compositional destination of choice, her brand new Spring 2016 pictorial offering witnessed here – and entitled ‘Easy Street’ – sees her now hallmark visual awareness, approach and application on strikingly familiar giclee on canvas territory. This effervescently composed and frenetically layered new board only iteration is limited to just 195 artist-signed editions from the outset of its release, which would explain why we’re urging you to speak now (in terms of registering your interest) or forever holding your peace if you’re to wind up on the receiving end of a slice of Ellis’ pictorial goodness.
