Having built an enviable reputation for creating strong narratives entwined with traffic-stopping visual imagery, much-celebrated contemporary fine artist, Mark Davies signature works are nothing if not compositionally enrapturing. And now the man who readily admits to having been inspired by the likes of Dali, Piero Della Francesca and Giuseppe Arcimboldo returns this Spring 2018 with one of his most stunning portfolios of giclee limited editions for our eyes only. Taking up where Davies’ hugely successful ‘Storyteller’ collection left off back in 2015, brand new examples of his craft – such as this, ‘I’d Give my Last Meatball (Lady and the Tramp)’ – will perpetuate the future legacy destined to be left by one of the UK’s most exciting pictorial talents. With reference to this hand-signed, 31” x 23” piece in particular, we’re still attempting to work out if Davies is portraying a different ending to the post-meal part of the famous meal, or alternatively a more happy place-cementing familiar graphic tone and illustrative diction. As ever, only the individual viewer can/will ultimately decide.
