The Messengers

This very latest mixed media iteration by one of the nation’s best-loved (and much collected) contemporary fine art practitioners, Kerry Darlington is now available to register your interest in; both in the gallery or online. And yet again, the compositionally irrepressible Darlington has left everything and nothing to the imagination. Drawing from her knowledge and love of all things children’s literature, ‘The Messengers’ takes its pictorial inspiration from the presence of said conveyors of facts and fiction in the form of instantly familiar woodland animals. Speaking on the very subject, Darlington said; “Sometimes a messenger appears in your life so forcefully that you cannot ignore them. They may come to you in any disguise and say or do something which makes you question your old ideas of reality. They may carry layers of ancient knowledge and lore that you had long forgotten.
