With a background in the more abstract, hugely talented contemporary fine artist, Kealey Farmer changed illustrative tack in the latter part of the 2000s, and instead plotted a more stripped back and organic means of creative expression through her always considered artwork. According to the best-selling exponent of her genre herself, Farmer talks of how; “One idea led to another and it took me nearly 2 years to come up with a design that seemed to work.” Essentially once Framer had painted leaves for the flowers she was working on at the time of her almost cathartic moment, it gave her the subsequent idea for trees; the trees then leading to the garden, garden for a gateway, and so on and so forth until where we’ve arrived at today. Today is autumn 2017, and the pictorial powerplay in question and sight right now is ‘Love Grows Here’. The most visually delicate hand-embellished and singed giclee limited edition you could imagine, illustratively caressed by the merest touch of leaf and heart, and which entwines to create a genteel, yet still emotive piece.
