Lake District Splendour

With pictorial qualities more normally beneficing of the intrusion of a camera lens, Duncan Palmar’s photo-realistic capture of a stunning body of water, places innate detail and exacting appreciation of the landscape first, second and third in his run of visual things in this, his latest creative outing. Celebrated landscape artist, Palmar’s ‘Lake District Splendour’ committed to canvas here is a stirring piece that observes the climbing, rolling magnificence of a draconian ridge looming up and over after parting company with the lake on which it fringes, giving way to further, looming fells to its left and right of the horizon. The foreground is solely dedicated to the onset of one of a legion of great lakes that pepper this Cumbrian part of England like a patchwork quilt; an area declared one of outstanding natural beauty and protected accordingly. Variant greens suggestive of native vegetation comprise the distant hills, whilst the blues of the sky above are reflected and furthered by the spring shimmer and sheen of the water itself, flanked by the more grassy greens of a dewy rural plain that encroaches on the water to the immediate left.
