Hopes and Dreams

We refer to it as ‘The Millar Touch’. In as much as everything the acclaimed and in-demand contemporary figurative artist, Alexander Millar touches tends to turn to nostalgic gold before our very eyes. Yet only the coldest of hearts would concur that compositional pieces such as this – ‘Hopes and Dreams’ – don’t hit an emotional nerve with all of us. We’re confident in our long-held belief that there’s something so visually endearing about this brand new Spring 2016 release, so old fashioned and familiar, yet simultaneously still hugely relevant on every level which appeals to a cross-section of art-loving society. Illustratively featuring one of Millar’s omnipresent gadgie characters, he’s joined this time by a young friend (relation we presume) who not only hangs on every inspirational word the older, wiser man utters, but physically by the coat tails of his old mac, as they ride hell for leather homeward after a fun time was had by all somewhere out of pictorial shot. This 295-piece limited edition run is presented in giclee on paper guise at this time of asking, and is proffered with Millar much sought after moniker to further tempt any fence-sitters. Although the last thing anyone considering purchasing this iteration should do is dawdle.
